IMS/HS Gets Political

Last summer, the Green Team was given the amazing opportunity to fly down to D.C to receive a Presidential EPA award! We were recognized in our Generation Grower’s project, and got to hear about many other projects from like-minded people while we were there. We were also able to meet with the Legislative Correspondent for the energy/environment office Arian Rubio, U.S Senator Ed Markey who co-authored The Green New Deal, as well as see other important government workers at the awards ceremony. Overall we got to see how certain aspects of the government work, hear about potential jobs, and hopefully make an impression on those around us. Staying true to our eco-friendly promises, we made sure to walk as much as we could to various sites as well as purchase carbon offsets for our flights.
